After grabbing a hearty breakfast at New Paltz, get going toward west along Route 299 and proceed in the direction of Shawangunk Mountains Scenic Byway. Following Route 44/55, you will reach the Mohonk Preserve Visitors Center, where you can take pleasure in free indoor and outdoor exhibits. Once you get back to riding, move slowly through the 5 miles per hour hairpin turn, as you don’t want to miss the ensuing breathtaking views. Proceed westward on Route 44/55 until you arrive at Minnewaska State Park Preserve, which according to Hudson Valley Magazine, is the Best Park. It offers majestic views of the outstanding Gunks since the park is at an elevation of 2,000 feet above sea level. 

Seven Lakes Drive
